Ages 6 to 8 years old. Six year olds may play in the prep division if they have prior experience. An 11 inch soft softball is used for safety purposes. This is a coach pitch division playing under modified rules to encourage learning of both defensive skills and hitting skills. Teaching of fundamental skills as well as the fun of playing softball is the goal.

Ages 8 to 10 years old. Eight year olds may play in the minor division if they have prior experience. An 11 inch regulation softball is used. This is a player pitch division. Modified rules are utilized to limit the numbers of walks and runs scored per inning. Otherwise, all other rules are per the Little League rulebook. Ages 11 to 12 years old. A 12 inch regulation softball is used. This is a player pitch division playing under the rules of Little League. Teaching of fundamental skills as well as the fun of playing softball is the goal.

Ages 13 to 16 years old although thirteen year olds are not allowed to pitch. A 12 inch regulation softball is used. This is a competitive player pitch division playing under the rules of Little League. Building on the fundamentals already learned, this level promotes competitiveness and fine-tunes a player's skills for high school and beyond.
